The legal guarantee notice is the statutory notice on the two-year liability for defects that every B2C seller of physical goods in the EU must provide from 27 September 2026. Since its content is identical for every seller and not product-specific, we provide the official, unmodified EU template here free of charge.

What's the difference to the GARAN-Label?
The legal guarantee notice above is identical for every seller and free of charge because it contains no product-specific information. If you additionally advertise a voluntary manufacturer guarantee of more than two years, you also need an individual GARAN-Label with brand, model, and guarantee duration.
How and where must the notice be displayed?
The notice must be placed visibly on the product detail page, at the latest before the order is completed. It must not be hidden behind a collapsed accordion or an extra click, and must remain clearly visible in the mobile view too. The language shown must match the language the shop is displayed in to the respective customer.
Common mistakes when embedding it
- Wrong size: the notice is shown so small the text becomes unreadable.
- Wrong language: the same language version is shown regardless of the shop's language.
- Missing on mobile: the notice is only embedded in the desktop view.
- Hidden behind a click: the notice sits inside a collapsed accordion or tab and isn't directly visible.
